New work for my “Body is a vessel Series.” 2025.
Size: 700mm (H) x 240mm (W) x 460mm (D)
Materials: Body = Paper Towels that have been dipped in concrete tile adhesive @mapeiuk and laid over a former to create papercrete a strong and durable alternative to papier-mâché or paper clay.
Base = layers of reclaimed glass from rivers, echoing the need for a more focused response to pollution, climate change and recycling.
A brutal analysis using Form, Frame and Texture, a study exploring through creative research the way in which we trudge through the land, at times oblivious to the polluted landscape. Highlighting the capitalist and gluttonous greed of the Anthropocene through the constant exploitation and use of resources, with dreams of a better world.
